\"Color_Management_Titel\"<\/a>Ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Farbmanagements sind die sogenannten Farbprofile. Sie beinhalten die Farbr\u00e4ume des genutzten Ausgabeger\u00e4ts und sind deshalb unabdingbar, wenn das Endergebnis im Druck dem Softproof oder der Wiedergabe auf dem Monitor besonders nahe kommen soll. Aber: Was sind Farbprofile im Detail? Eine neue Folge unserer Reihe <\/em>\u201eWas ist Color-Management?\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

Wozu Farbprofile?<\/strong>
\nFarben werden individuell wahrgenommen und ebenso individuell wiedergegeben. So wie jeder Mensch Farben unterschiedlich sieht, hat auch jedes Ausgabeger\u00e4t seinen ganz spezifischen Farbraum. Scanner nehmen Farben anders auf, als sie Monitore wiedergeben; und im Druck erscheinen Farben wiederum ganz anders, als auf dem Monitor. Aber nicht nur die Art der Aufnahme und Wiedergabe l\u00e4sst Farben so unterschiedlich erscheinen, vor allem die Farbr\u00e4ume der genutzten Ger\u00e4te sind daf\u00fcr verantwortlich, dass ein Bild am Monitor ganz anders wirkt als auf dem Ausdruck. Die Ger\u00e4te in der Produktionskette m\u00fcssen deshalb zun\u00e4chst kalibriert und profiliert<\/a> werden, um einen ger\u00e4te\u00fcbergreifenden Farbraum<\/a> zu finden. Gespeichert werden diese Daten im sogenannten Profil. In dieser Datei enthalten sind die reproduzierbaren Farbr\u00e4ume des jeweils verwendeten Ger\u00e4ts. Die Profile berechnen au\u00dferdem mittels der Rendering Intents<\/a> die Umwandlung beispielsweise des Monitorfarbraums in den des Endger\u00e4ts. So ist sichergestellt, dass die Farben in der gesamten Produktionskette m\u00f6glichst \u00e4hnlich erscheinen.<\/p>\n

Standardisierung der Profile<\/strong>
\nDa es eine Vielzahl an Ger\u00e4ten und auch Farbrechnern gibt, wurde bereits im Jahr 1993 ein Standard f\u00fcr Profildateien geschaffen. Acht Industrieunternehmen, darunter Adobe, Apple und Microsoft, gr\u00fcndeten das International Color Consortium, kurz ICC, mit dem Ziel, die Farbmanagement-Systeme \u00fcber alle Betriebssysteme und Anwendungen hinweg zu vereinheitlichen. Heraus kamen die sogenannten ICC-Profile, die sogar in der ISO-Norm 15076 festgeschrieben sind. In den international standardisierten ICC-Profilen sind neben den Kriterien der Endger\u00e4te auch weitere Faktoren wie die Papierart und deren Farbe niedergelegt. Dadurch kann das farbliche Endergebnis m\u00f6glichst genau auf dem Monitor simuliert sowie auf der Druckmaschine dann auch tats\u00e4chlich ausgegeben werden.<\/p>\n

Aufbau einer Profildatei<\/strong>
\n\"201114_Summary\"<\/a>Tats\u00e4chlich handelt es sich bei einem ICC-Profil einfach nur um eine Datei mit der Endung .icc. Diese besteht aus einem Kopfbereich (Header) mit den Basisinformationen wie Profiltyp, Ersteller des Profils und das verwendete Farbmanagement-Modul. Diese Informationen kann man mit einer passenden Farbmanagement-Software einsehen. Im Anschluss folgt eine sogenannte Tag-Tabelle, eine Art Inhaltsverzeichnis und \u00dcbersicht, ob es sich um ein Eingabe- (scnr), Monitor- (mntr) oder Ausgabeprofil (prtr) handelt. Diese auch Profilklassen genannten Inhalte bestimmen dar\u00fcber, wie das Farbmanagement-System die Farben von einem auf das andere Ger\u00e4t \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt und dabei so verschiebt bzw. umrechnet, dass sie dem Original m\u00f6glichst nahe kommen.<\/p>\n

Mittels der Profilklassen erkennt das Farbmanagement-System au\u00dferdem, ob ein Monitor genutzt wird, welcher Drucker die Ausgabe \u00fcbernimmt und welchen Farbraum der Scanner besitzt. Neben den direkten Klassen gibt es noch die Klasse \u201eVerkn\u00fcpfung\u201c, die zwei \u00e4hnliche Ausgabeger\u00e4te miteinander verbindet (link). Es handelt sich dabei um CMYK-zu-CMYK-Tabellen, die lediglich unterschiedliche Druckmethoden ber\u00fccksichtigen.<\/p>\n

Den Hauptteil der Profildatei macht allerdings die sogenannte Look-Up-Table aus (kurz: LUT), in der f\u00fcr jeden Farbwert der passende Farbwert des Ausgabeger\u00e4ts steht. Auf diese Weise wird der Farbraum des einen Ger\u00e4ts mit dem Farbraum des anderen genau beschrieben. Je mehr Punkte im Farbraum in dieser Tabelle festgelegt sind, desto genauer ist das Profil. Alternativ kann das Profil auch eine Matrix enthalten, die mittels Matrizen und Kurvendefinition den Farbraum der beiden genutzten Ger\u00e4te wiedergibt. Im Druck werden allerdings meist LUT-Profile genutzt, da diese ein konkretes Ger\u00e4t besser beschreiben k\u00f6nnen. (Hier<\/a> gibt es das ICC-Profil von viaprinto zum Download.)<\/p>\n

Verbindungsfarbraum pcs als \u00dcbergangsrechner<\/strong>
\nUmgerechnet werden die Farben aber auch bei der Nutzung von Profilen nicht einfach 1:1, sondern meist wird ein Verbindungsfarbraum genutzt, der die Konvertierung erleichtert. Der Profile Connection Space, oder kurz pcs, wurde ebenfalls vom International Color Consortium als herstellerneutrale Plattform definiert, die als Schnittstelle der miteinander verbundenen Ger\u00e4te fungiert. Dank dieses Zwischenschritts gelingt bei der Umrechnung der Farben mittels Farbprofilen eine Konvertierung, die m\u00f6glichst wenig Verluste mit sich bringt und dennoch den Farbraum beispielsweise des Monitors dem des Druckers m\u00f6glichst angleicht.<\/p>\n

Nat\u00fcrlich lassen sich solche Profile auch selbst erstellen. Dies ist vor allem anzuraten, wenn man einen eigenen Farbdrucker nutzt, dessen Druckergebnis der Darstellung auf dem Monitor besonders nahe kommen soll. Aber auch Digitalkameras, die am Anfang der Produktionskette stehen, verwenden Farbprofile und k\u00f6nnen demnach auf die eigenen Gegebenheiten profiliert werden.
